Runtown’s ‘Mad Over You’ Anniversary Gets a Lagos Concert Film on Spotify

Ten years after “Mad Over You” was released, Spotify has premiered a full-length Runtown concert film recorded in Lagos. The four-part [Runtown] Surround Sound performance arrived on November 4 and moves through songs and moods from across the Nigerian singer’s catalogue.
TurnTable Charts reports that the film was directed by Tim Horwood and recorded with fans surrounding the stage. “Mad Over You” anchors the final chapter, alongside “Unleash” and “Energy.” The programme also includes records such as “Lagos to Kampala,” “Gallardo” and “High Spirit.”
A catalogue story around a signature song
The release frames the anniversary hit within the wider body of work that came before and after it. That gives listeners a route from a familiar single into other parts of the catalogue, while the live arrangement and audience provide a different context from the studio recording.
Spotify data cited by TurnTable Charts was measured on September 15, 2026: “Mad Over You” had 140.7 million lifetime streams at that point, including 36.6 million during 2026 through that date. These are dated platform figures, not a live counter.
Why this format matters for African music
A recorded concert can extend a local performance beyond the room and preserve a specific artist-fan moment as a replayable release. The film also shows how a platform can package a hit with deeper catalogue tracks, offering fans another way to explore an artist’s work.
