Abuja Afrojazz Festival Adds a Professional Music Market for November

The Abuja International Afrojazz Festival is adding a Professional Music Market to its 2026 programme. The two-day event is scheduled for November 19–20 in Abuja, with panels, music clinics, town-hall discussions and business-to-business meetings between African and European music professionals.

Voice of Nigeria reports that about 20 international industry executives from 10 countries are expected. The programme is intended to connect Nigerian artists and music businesses with festival directors, promoters, booking agents, journalists and intellectual-property specialists.

What the market is designed to do

The first day, themed “CONNECT,” is set to focus on music ecosystems, intellectual property, monetisation and digital technology. The second, “CREATE & DEVELOP,” is planned around the European music ecosystem and building professional partnerships.

The festival’s official programme lists the wider event for November 16–21, including workshops, showcases and a main concert at BALI City Park in Wuse 2 on November 21. Artists and delegates should check the organiser’s latest programme for changes and participation details.

For independent acts, industry markets can be useful when approached with a clear objective: a concise live set, a current electronic press kit, clear rights and credits, and specific partnership questions. Attendance alone does not guarantee bookings or deals; preparation and follow-up matter.
