Oppong Emmanual, professionally known as Mophty, is a Ghanaian Highlife and Afrobeats singer-songwriter who has been making significant strides in the music industry since his debut in 2022. He first captured attention with his single “Me Tanfo,” which showcased his unique blend of traditional Highlife rhythms and contemporary Afrobeats influences.
In 2023, Mophty gained widespread recognition through his collaboration with Mr Drew on the remix of “Case.” This partnership not only highlighted his vocal prowess but also earned the track three nominations at the 2024 TGMA Awards: “Collaboration of the Year,” “Afrobeats Song of the Year,” and “Most Popular Song of the Year.”
Building on this momentum, Mophty released “Hope and Pray” in June 2024, a Highlife single that delves into the daily struggles of the average Ghanaian. Produced by MOG Beatz and mixed by Mix Master Garzy, the song offers a message of hope and resilience, with lyrics like, “But adey hope and pray before the sun go rise, you go make a way.”
In October 2024, Mophty collaborated with Ogee & Maestro on their debut single, “Makoma,” further showcasing his versatility and appeal in the Ghanaian music scene.
Mophty’s latest release, “Gyeme So,” continues his exploration of themes centered around faith and perseverance. The song serves as both a prayer and an anthem for those seeking breakthrough moments, blending relatable storytelling with an infectious rhythm.
Throughout his career, Mophty has expressed a deep admiration for legendary Highlife musician Kojo Antwi, stating that a collaboration with him would be a significant blessing.
