Make It Easy to Listen: A Better Artist Link Page

When a listener asks for your song, the next step should be simple. A link page can bring streaming destinations, video, tickets or artist information together—but only if it helps people choose what to do.

Put the release first

For a new single, make the single the most prominent item. Use the correct artwork, title and artist name. If the page contains several releases, order them intentionally instead of making the newest song compete with every old link.

Test the page as a stranger

Open it on a phone while logged out of your own accounts if possible. Check whether the links go to the correct song and profile, whether the page loads clearly on mobile data and whether any buttons are hidden below a long intro. Ask a friend in Ghana or Nigeria to test it from their device and report any confusion.

Keep the calls to action clear

Use labels such as “Listen on…”, “Watch the video” or “Get tickets” so visitors know where a button goes. Avoid a wall of identical buttons. If the main goal is listening, keep unrelated requests—merchandise, mailing lists, old interviews—secondary.

Use tracking thoughtfully

If your link tool supports analytics, check which destinations and sources are useful. Tracking is most helpful when it answers a specific question, such as which campaign link brought visits. Do not collect personal information unless there is a clear purpose and a proper privacy notice.

Keep the destination up to date

After a release changes status, remove expired pre-save links and replace temporary pages with the live song. Update pinned social links and any profile bios that point to the campaign. A stale link can frustrate a listener long after the original post disappears from the feed.

The best link page is not the one with the most features. It is the one that gets a curious person to the right music with the fewest steps.
