An electronic press kit (EPK) is a compact set of information about an artist. It can help a promoter assess a booking, a journalist prepare an interview or a collaborator understand the project. It should answer practical questions quickly.
Put the essentials first
Start with the artist name, a short bio, a current photo and direct links to the music. A reader should not need to search through multiple pages to find the latest single or a representative performance clip. Use links that open correctly on mobile and label them clearly.
Choose images for real use
Include one or two high-resolution artist images with permission for press or event use. Add a simple caption and photo credit. Avoid sending a folder of near-identical photos; choose images with different crops or uses. If there are usage restrictions, state them plainly.
Include proof, not inflated language
You can add selected performances, interviews, notable releases or confirmed awards when they are relevant and verifiable. A short list with dates and links is stronger than a paragraph of vague superlatives. Do not imply a partnership, endorsement or achievement that has not been confirmed.
Make live information useful
For booking, include the set length, lineup, technical requirements and contact person. If the stage plot or input list is complex, link to a separate current document. Note what the artist can provide and what the venue needs to supply. Do not bury key production needs in a long biography.
Add one reliable contact route
State who handles enquiries and provide a monitored email address or contact form. If a manager or booking representative is listed, get their permission and check that the information is current. A form should ask only for details needed to respond.
Keep the EPK current
Review it before a campaign, tour or major release. Replace outdated links, remove expired event announcements and check every file on a phone. If you use a single landing page, make sure the most important items are visible without an account or special software.
The best EPK is not necessarily the most elaborate. It is the one that helps the right person understand the artist, hear the work and take the next step with confidence.
